Tickets on sale Monday for the Official Reception

Tickets for the Official Reception to celebrate Wingham's Sesquicentenary of Public Education will go on sale at 9am on Monday, July 28th. The evening of celebration, on Saturday night September 13, will be held in the auditorium at Wingham Services Club.

Sesquicentenary Committee Project Manager Sally Piracha said "With the big weekend of celebrations less than two months away, there's already a great buzz around town. Accommodation is starting to fill up, plans for exhibitions and displays are well under way, students are preparing their contributions and everyone is looking forward to the chance to frock up and celebrate."

Tickets can be purchased from Monday for $40 per person from the following schools:

Ø  Wingham Public School, Murray Road, Wingham
Ø  Wingham Brush Public School, Isabella Street, Wingham
Ø  Wingham High School, Rowley Street, Wingham

These tickets are already in high demand, so they will be allocated on a first-in basis, and must be paid for in full at the time of purchase.

To assist the many guests travelling to Wingham for the Sesquicentenary celebrations, a strictly limited number of tickets will be made available online. To reserve tickets online, email your request to: winghameducation150@gmail.com, and include your name, number of tickets requested and postal address on your email. Payment details will be sent via return email.

Susan Ryan, Sesquicentenary Committee Liaison, sees the Official Reception as one of the biggest events on Wingham's social calendar in 2014. "We're planning a really special night, an opportunity to catch up with past and present students and staff from several decades of public education in Wingham."

"While no-one is expected to wear a tux, the theme is semi-formal. We're celebrating in style," she added.

The ticket price includes canapés, a drink on arrival, entertainment and a souvenir programme. Drinks will be available at club prices. Unfortunately, children cannot be admitted to this event.
